How to work with your spouse without serious injury

Working from home with your spouse in a business that doesn't require that you actually leave the house very often can be a challenge.  The winters are the hardest! You can find all kinds of excuses not to go out when the weather is bad, or the roads are bad, or there is too much snow on the car.....or.....

However, there comes a time when you haven't ventured outside for more than 4 or 5 days and your husband is typing VERY loudly, then he is sipping his coffee even louder, not to mention that irritating chuckle!!!!  Now is the time to leave for awhile, even if it is 50 below!!  Frostbite is better than murder any day!  There is also the nasty looks coming from across the office that tell you that your husband may not be the only annoying person in the two person office!

The only answer is to leave, visit clients you haven't seen for awhile, get supplies, get coffee, get therapy, GET OUT!  And that is what I am going to do right now!

The importance of quality design for your business

So many times I see companies spend money on sales people, and business cards and promotional material without putting any thought into the image they are portraying to their potential customers.  Think about the last trade show you attended, like a home and garden show.  There were maybe 20 places who do landscaping.  Some had a nice logo with  a professionally designed tradeshow display, and well dressed sales people who actively sought out your attention, while others had a table with a photo copied pamphlet in front of a couple of guys sitting at their table eating a hot dog.  You get the idea!  It is the same with any of the promotional material you have that represents your company, the more effort you put into your image the more you get out of it!
